Refactoring to simplify code #4

This extracts the configuration-specific data from the code and using a common flow to help keep the code straightforward. Note it's not fully tested yet, but can be if needed!

Oops sorry I let this sit for too long and there's been some changes to the code that makes it conflict now. I'm not actually a programmer and I don't know anything about lambdas so I was hesitant to merge in changes that I don't know how to debug or really understand.

It's fine, wrote a whole new program for the things I need as my friend no longer uses it. Good luck!
