@jamest-portainer thanks taking a look. We had made the addon installer specific to microk8s version 1.25
as we depend on the underlying k8s API version. The default gopaddle version that gets enabled is 4.2.5
which is qualified to work with microk8s version 1.25
. You can try our latest version 4.2.8
on microk8s 1.26
. You can enable this add-on like this - microk8s enable gopaddle-lite -v 4.2.8
So, for each MicroK8s release - 1.26, 1.27 and whatever going forward - you would have to specify a different gopaddle-lite version when enabling for that release. Seems strange, as, for all other addons you just enable and don't need to specify an addon version.
The reason I'm asking is because our product, Portainer, integrates with MicroK8s to give a front-end UI to allow you to do things like set up a cluster and enabled/disable addons. Perhaps we exclude gopaddle-lite from the list of addons that can be enabled, as it sounds like we would have to specify different versions on enabling, depending upon the MicroK8s version.
Cheers for now
We are removing this dependency in the upcoming revision. However, for the time being we have a dependency. You can choose to include gopaddle now, or we can explore the Portainer integration in a few months along with the microk8s release update.
When I enable the gopaddle-lite addon on MicroK8s 1.26, I get this: WARNING: Detected Kubernetes version 26, which is not supported
Not sure if that's a big deal, but thought I'd feed it back.
Here is the example example...
