Feature request: Trigger on GPS location #164

Being able to trigger a recording once the camera is within X metres of a location would be neat. Stopping the recording could be triggered by one of 3 things: Time-based, distance from start-location or being within X metres of an end-location.

This is coming to HERO11 Labs, maybe March-ish it all goes well.

This would be super cool for aviation (take offs, landings, points of interest), and motorcross (jumps/specific features on track).

Being able to do this as a post process / auto edit would also be great - record an hour of footage, upload to cloud, have a UI to select segments of the GPS track on a map to create an edit from.

This was released months ago as in Labs in-camera feature. So I should close this request. As an auto edit, it has been technically possible for years, extract the metadata, use that to select the best segments. Quik does this for its auto edits. The hard part here is the UI for custom segment selection. Labs doesn't do UI, only low level tech and experiments.
