Most of the QR codes work fine because they are done before you record, however for overlay’s that change during the recording it is not really practical to use QR codes.
This would make use cases like live scoring so much more practical (even more so if the camera is on a high tripod making it impossible to hold a QR code in front of the camera):

So in my dream the QRControl iOS app would get the option of sending a “QR code” message directly to a connected camera via bluetooth.
This has been a request from Open GoPro for a years, it is not something Labs can directly implement. It might happen, see https://gopro.github.io/OpenGoPro/
