An addition that would be great is to have a cursor showing you a pace you are trying to match.

For example you would like to force you to type at 50wpm, you enter this pace and it create a ghost that show the cursor overlaying the text and follow it as if you were typing at a steady speed of 50 wpm.

At the moment I'm doing this with a metronome and just enter the character per minute I'm trying to match.

It seems to force me to learn to type better because I have a fix amount of time to type the key. It help to increase your typing speed and your accuracy as long as you don't try to reach a pace that is to high for your current proficiency.

If you are currently typing at 50 and you are trying to match a 70wpm or higher ( I just took these number as en exemple) you will have an hard time to follow the pace without loosing too much accuracy. But if you are just trying to match 55wpm it can give you the right amount of stress to force you to increase your speed.
