The main goal of this project is to provide an open-source alternative to youneedabudget.com

However, I would like to avoid a lawsuit. I am uninformed on this matter, and I need to figure this out before the product gets 'production ready'.

I checked with some experienced people. I should be fine as long as I don't try to make profits from it.
