OK. Let me explain this.

Version control system (VCS) -- collective name for all version control systems Concurrent Versioning System (CSV) -- no good, obsolete, centralized version control system that no one should use now.

Actually you are right in the sense that the full form of abbreviation should be somewhere in the text in order to avoid this confusion.
