that seems simple to add, can you paste a sample list of those games, like 10-20 for each differences
I forgot I posted this. I'll try and come up with some examples when I have a free moment.
Would a simple folder layout suffice? Like doing a dir > example.txt
in DOS/Command Prompt?
yea thats fine, filename is all i need
I don't know if these are supported with m3u in Retroarch/etc, but here are some examples:
Carmine (Disk A).d88
Carmine (Disk B).d88
Final Zone [Set 1] (Disk A).d88
Final Zone [Set 1] (Disk B).d88
Gaiflame (Disk A).d88
Gaiflame (Disk B).d88
--> Seems like most of these are (Disk A/B)
format <--
Bonanza Bros (1991)(Sharp - SPS)(Disk 1 of 2)(Disk A).dim Bonanza Bros (1991)(Sharp - SPS)(Disk 2 of 2)(Disk B).dim Choujin (Fix) (Disk 1) (System).dim Choujin (Fix) (Disk 2) (Data).dim (^^^ a weird one, with a system/data) Cranked Arrow (1989)(Fukuda Naoto)(Disk 1 of 3)(Disk A).dim Cranked Arrow (1989)(Fukuda Naoto)(Disk 2 of 3)(Disk B).dim Cranked Arrow (1989)(Fukuda Naoto)(Disk 3 of 3)(Disk C).dim ...etc
Alice In Wonderland (1985)(Windham Classics)[cr][a](Disk 1 of 1 Side A).dsk
Alice In Wonderland (1985)(Windham Classics)[cr][a](Disk 1 of 1 Side B).dsk
Alter Ego (1985)(Activision)[cr][a](Disk 1 of 3 Side A).dsk
Alter Ego (1985)(Activision)[cr][a](Disk 1 of 3 Side B).dsk
Alter Ego (1985)(Activision)[cr][a](Disk 2 of 3 Side A).dsk
Alter Ego (1985)(Activision)[cr][a](Disk 2 of 3 Side B).dsk
Alter Ego (1985)(Activision)[cr][a](Disk 3 of 3 Side A).dsk
Alter Ego (1985)(Activision)[cr][a](Disk 3 of 3 Side B).dsk
(^^^ picked that one on purpose lol)
--> Most of the games in this list will say Disk 1 of 3
or some assortment of Disk 1 of 3 Side A
. They don't really say "Disk A"
221B Baker Street (USA) (Disk 1 Side A).atr 221B Baker Street (USA) (Disk 1 Side B).atr 221B Baker Street (USA) (Disk 2) (Case Library 1).atr 221B Baker Street (USA) (Disk 3) (Case Library 2).atr (^^^ Makes things difficult, with disk 2 and 3 being one side, Disk 1 having 2 sides, so in total it's "4 disks") A-E (USA) (Side A).atr A-E (USA) (Side B).atr --> Most games for this system are single disk, but labeled as Side A/B <--
Terminator 2 - Judgment Day1.st
Terminator 2 - Judgment Day2.st
(^^^ I picked this one specifically because it's a weird format with just 1 or 2 at the end and I personally owned it and remember it)
Afterburner (Europe) (Disk A).ipf
Afterburner (Europe) (Disk B).ipf
Air Supply1.st
Air Supply2.st (another weird one - there's actually a lot like this in my set now that I'm looking)
Another World (Europe) (Disk A).ipf
Another World (Europe) (Disk B).ipf
--> Seems like most games here are of (Disk X) format, or of the GameNameX
format where X is a number usually ending in .st
... <--
Accolade Comics - Steve Keene, Private Spy (USA) (Disk 1 Side A).zip Accolade Comics - Steve Keene, Private Spy (USA) (Disk 1 Side B).zip Accolade Comics - Steve Keene, Private Spy (USA) (Disk 2 Side A).zip Accolade Comics - Steve Keene, Private Spy (USA) (Disk 2 Side B).zip Accolade Comics - Steve Keene, Private Spy (USA) (Disk 3 Side A).zip Accolade Comics - Steve Keene, Private Spy (USA) (Disk 3 Side B).zip (^^^ Another Side A/B, but doesn't include "Disk X of Y") Alice in Videoland (Europe) (Side A).zip Alice in Videoland (Europe) (Side B).zip (Seems like most games are of Side A/B format, with a few "Disk 1 Side X" with no disk 2's..)
Hope that helps some. I'm in no rush (as I said, I forgot all about asking lol). If you need more examples, I can definitely supply them. I'm not sure where I got these games, been a long time collecting. I think they're all from a mixture of sources like TOSEC, No-Intro, GoodXXX, and GameBase. I know that doesn't help you much. I can get you a full folder listing if you need them. Thanks for your efforts!
__list.txt Here's the Atari ST file list for example...
Thanks, thats alot of weird patterns these groups be naming files =)
Yeah, like I said no rush. Have fun with it. :)
RetroaArch supports some PC systems that have multiple disks. Systems like Atari, NEC PC8800/9800, etc. I have a bunch of games that are not in the (Disk 1)...(Disk 99) format, but rather in (DiskA)...(Disk Z) format. Could support be added to also include alphabetical disk labels instead of just numerical?
Ps, I still use this tool a lot! And I recommend it all the time. :)
