The following is a comprised summary of wanted enhancements and/or features for
a future version of Talkback. It was first summarized and commented on the
eyes-free mailing list, please see:
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/eyes-free/kBjbWvvl2fo

There are already existing tickets for some of the following items, so this is
kind of an unified ticket for requests. The related tickets are: #176, #199,
#252, #270, #281, #295, #334, #335, #336.

The requests were made based on the current version of Talkback available on
Play Store as of 17th May 2014.

1. Better Talkback's physical keyboards support, for those who want to use an
external bluetooth keyboard with their smartphone, or a regular pC/laptop
running Android. This includes, but are not limitted to:
1.a. support entering accented characters for languages which require that,
such as French, German and Spanish;
1.b. a better Talkback's navigation amongst screen elements, namely, not
skipping elements when using tab/shift-tab/arrow keys;
1.c. a less verbose feedback while navigating lists of files/directories, i.e.,
not saying "showing items number of number" on each arrow key press;
1.d. better handling of text edit areas with regards to lines and words
speaking;
1.e. a factory-predefined keystroke for toggling system wide accessibility;
1.f. a settings dialog to assign keystrokes to given actions, such as giving
focus to a specific element regardless of its position at the screen.

2. The ability to customize Talkback options per application, e.g., turn off
talkback inside an alarm clock in order not to be awaken up by the synthesiser
speech but rather by the alarm itself.

3. More Talkback's customization options, especially regarding verbosity, i.e.,
an option to disable messages like "showing items number to number", and "music
volume set to so and so".

4. A better Talkback's text, number, and punctuation processing, so that there
is no longer a need for individual synthesisers to pre-process numbers and
other parameters by themselves.

5. Better web view support.

6. Options to change synthesisers and voice languages on the fly.

7. Dragging and dropping detection, particularly for reorganizing items on
homescreens.

8. An alternative, standard, allert dialog interface for the currently circle
based local and global Talkback menus, for those with drawing difficulties.
