build: refac the way git revisions are passed to the compiler

• [x] Remove tools/version.sh and use a different way of passing Version, GitRevision, GitBranch and Built
• [x] Update the Makefile's dist target to generate checksum files

This will make the automatic building of the tool pass on GitHub actions.
