What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. KeyNote (before KeyNote NF) file with virtual nodes, both txt and rft.
What is the expected output?
At first, KeyNote NF opened the file with virtual nodes normally, with no
error messages.
What do you see instead?
Later on however, upon opening that same file with virtual nodes, an
error message popped up saying that the drive/file could not be found
(indicating a "virtual node" whose link to the actual external file was no
longer valid., i.e., an orphaned node). Since the file had many virtual
nodes with bad links, the error message kept popping up. Consequently, I
had to use the Task manager to kill both KeyNote NF and the error message.
SOLUTION:
I thought the KeyNote file with the virutual nodes had become corrupt.
In fact however, it opened fine with the last version of KeyNote before
KeyNote NF. So, using the old version of KeyNote, I "unlinked" all of the
virtual nodes in the keynote file. (I found them by doing a search in ALL
nodes for " .rtf " and " .txt ", since virtual nodes link only to external
rtf and txt files.) After doing so, the KeyNote file worked normally with
KeyNote NF.
What version are you using? KeyNote NF (v.1.7.8.1) On what operating
system? Windows 7 (retail)
