I did Gsoc first issues of Checkstyle and I am now familiar with Gsoc first issues so can I do 10-12 Gsoc first issues or I have to do only 1 issue of Gsoc first issue and then jump into Gsoc second issue?

As a third year student should I contribute to open-source or study for internship?
I am learning web dev, so I am simultaneously finding web deb orgs. I have interest in ML too and I know I'll be doing it in the future. So should I find orgs now which uses both web dev and ML or should I change the org afterwards? I've learned from Kunal's videos that quality of org matters more than quantity.

I've been trying to contribute for Sympy, but when I go through the comments, I find that it was closed through another commit, so I find it time consuming to go through all the comments and find it's closed. So is there anything on github that shows that the issue is open?
