"Only thing I could not find easily was a link to the hackerspace, which I think would be helpful." - RH

  • Definitely agree on need to rework the website, in particular some improvements on winners list and project list with the ability to search/sort by theme and other category (perhaps prizes won?) rather just alphabetical project name
  • Maybe I missed it, but I can’t find an area for participants. Is this because it’ll be covered in body text under the broader site sections? One example I could see being used is: https://2016.spaceappschallenge.org/locations (click on location and you’re there for registration, in fact if you go to https://2016.spaceappschallenge.org/challenges and click on a challenge/theme you can register that way as well it seems –overall this seems to be aiming for the same goals Jabberwocky is so worth a look)
  • Website design wise, would the banner links be better centred and removing the floating link box (going by trends I’ve seen on sites)?

Make the top links bar opaque (possibly with the GH background still) and centre the links. Fiddle with the code that transitions between up an down scrolling so it's a bit smoother (later!)

I'm not 100% happy with the table of contents at the moment - needs to feel more like a Wikipedia TOC somehow (smaller, less obtrusive.)

I actually like what GOV.UK do with some of their longer pages e.g. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/river-maintenance-and-drainage-charges-farmers-and-landowners

So something like that table of contents, but probably still persisting it on the side as you scroll.

  • Add (Theme|Organisation|Dataset|...) as a prefix in the table of contents.
  • Add short_name for jurisdictions, organisations. Could use in ToCs, et cetera.
  • Breadcrumb same text size as other menu items.
