Only getting sensors no camera feed #22

Open justinths opened 6 years ago

justinths commented 6 years ago

Hi,

On camera-ffmpeg-ufv v0.6.0 i use to get the camera feed and no motion sensors. I moved to a docker version of homebridge, included the ffmpeg package and upgraded the package to 0.8.0 and now i only get sensor accessories no camera feed.

See log below. Great plugin btw, really excited about motion sensor capability.

[2018-7-7 19:29:58] [UniFi Video (ffmpeg)] Initializing camera-ffmpeg-ufv platform... ... Load homebridge-camera-ffmpeg-ufv.camera-ffmpeg-ufv ... [2018-7-7 19:29:58] [UniFi Video (ffmpeg)] Published 2 camera accessories. [2018-7-7 19:29:58] [UniFi Video (ffmpeg)] Initializing platform accessory 'X1 Motion Sensor'... [2018-7-7 19:29:58] [UniFi Video (ffmpeg)] Initializing platform accessory 'X2 Motion Sensor'...

Oh, I might add that i am still running the other homebridge installation on the same machine, not in docker though, might that have something to do with it?

justinths commented 6 years ago

Hi sorry figured it out, it seems that two homes on your phone cannot have the same accessories ... thanks

I just want to clarify, that i had two homebridges running while i was switching over to new version. So on my phone i added both homebridges as separate homes. I could not see the cam feed in the new one, until i removed it from the old one, then it was as described in the notes, or @ryanschmidt below.

QcVictor commented 6 years ago

After update to 0.8.0, got the same thing but unfortunately no two homes, tried to revert on my previous backup but home do not show me any accessories from ufv just getting sensors

ryanschmidt commented 6 years ago

I just added this plugin to my homebridge setup and I'm experiencing the same thing. The motion sensors work as expected but no sign of cameras.

EDIT: I figured it out. The instructions just need to be updated. They should read:

  1. Restart homebridge
  2. Open Home app and click +
  3. (the missing one) Tap "Don't have a Code or Can't Scan?"
  4. You'll then see the cameras and you can add them with a tap. You'll need to scan the QR code again.

Investigating.

hey ryanschmidt thanks for the tip, it's working now

neutrl commented 5 years ago

This is also happening for me, Ubuntu 16.04 -- UVC G3 Camera only showing as a motion sensor.

pelowj commented 5 years ago

I'm having this issue too — did anyone ever find a workaround? The "Don't have a Code or Can't Scan?" thing didn't work for me.

justinths commented 5 years ago

Yeah I added in other cams, still having this issue, trying to remember what i did last time ...

pelowj commented 5 years ago

@gozoinks Did you ever manage to get any workarounds for this?

soylant commented 5 years ago

Hi I also only see sensors and no feeds

justinths commented 5 years ago

Make sure the RTSP feed is enabled in the ubiquiti controller for all cameras.

pelowj commented 5 years ago

Yep, all RTSP feeds enabled... no joy.

shnhrrsn commented 5 years ago

I've had some success where if they don’t appear in don't have a code section right away, restarting the phone will get them to.

basroovers commented 5 years ago

I'm experiencing the same thing. Also running Ubuntu 18.04 (on a Raspberry Pi 3).

I'm having the same issue. And HomeBridge definitely sees the cameras:

I just added this plugin to my homebridge setup and I'm experiencing the same thing. The motion sensors work as expected but no sign of cameras.

* Ubuntu 18.04

* Installed ffmpeg

* Installed necessary plugins

* Motion sensors work

* Enabled RTSP feeds

I just saw your reply. This worked like a charm for me.

JasSmiths commented 5 years ago

Ive got the same issue, its only showing Motion Sensors and not the Camera's, all the above tried to no avail.

Any help much appreciated.

Botts85 commented 5 years ago

@JasSmiths for whatever reason, my Homebridge stopped seeing the camera feeds, so @SMARoovers solution doesn't work.

That solution is the proper one for a functioning setup though.

I wound up just recreating my Homebridge VM from scratch to resolve the issue as it became clear that would save me time versus trying to figure out the issue.

merrlyne commented 5 years ago

I’m currently having this same issue. I can get it to run fine on a Raspberry Pi 3, but no such luck on Ubuntu.
