Feature Request: Add 'Go To Line' #142

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

Dear All,

I'm used to Scintilla/Scite keyboard shortcut & functionnality.
One I greatly missed is 'Go To Line' (Ctrl-G).
Especially useful with python traceback giving you the line number where the
exception happened.
Currently, I have to manually scroll to the desired line.
A keyboard shortcut would be greatly appreciated.
Such shortcut would yield a formal dialog asking me for a line number. On
enter, the caret would be put on the desired line.

IEP has "Go to line" functionality. You can find it under "Edit -> Go to line".
Alternatively, you can double-click in the margin of the text editor (i.e.
where the line numbers are displayed) to invoke the dialog.

We had some discussion on which key-shortcut "Go to line" should have, but both
most logical options, Ctrl-G and Ctrl-L, are already taken. We didn't want to
mess up people's keyboard shortcuts, so we didn't mess around with the
mappings. You can set your own keyboard shortcut by going to "Settings -> Edit
key mappings..." and going to the "Edit" tab.

I setting this to WontFix, but if you have any suggestions for a logical key
combination that is not yet taken, we can quite easily change it.
