Lots of "unknow podcast" feeds #439

In my rather long list of feeds I maintain on gpodder.net (mygpo, https://github.com/gpodder/gpodder/labels/mygpo) I have assembled quite a lot of feeds that have not been correctly identified. Some of them have been added a few years ago, some have been added more recently. All of the feeds are correctly parsed in podcatcher apps (e.g. AntennaPod), but I would like to see the titles of the podcasts I have subscribed to in my gpodder.net account.

Any chance I can trigger gpodder.net to try and parse the feeds again?

At least some of these feeds show this behavior:

  1. In my subscription list, the feed is identified as: "Unknown Podcast"
  2. If I search for the feed, it is identified as a feed I have subscribed to.
  3. If I then click onto the podcast link, it is shown with correct title, episodes etc.

Examples include:

  1. http://feeds.metaebene.me/cre/oga
  2. http://bobsonbob.de/feed/mp3/
  3. https://trekcast.podbean.com/feed.xml

Maybe this has something to do with redirects? I have noticed that some of the feeds have been duplicates with both the http:// and the https:// links included in my list.

moving to gpodder.net tracker...

Basically, there are two different types of feeds in my unknown list:

a) duplicates (I have removed them since) mostly http vs https b) unknown feeds that I can fix by removing them and re-adding the feed URL

Maybe we could have a feature in the near or far future to "re-scan/re-add unknown podcast feeds"

I have similar problems, have not looked into it in detail much, but most feeds are synced from antennapod

Returning from Pocketcasts back to antenna pod and exported the opml from pocketcasts to gpodder. Even if the podcast is able to be found using the discover mode of gpodder.

eg: https://gpodder.net/podcast/4e773bb2-cfe0-11ea-8ba1-aa0000139656 and https://gpodder.net/podcast/auslegungssache

Or: (added the feed url since it is the difference in both examples) https://gpodder.net/podcast/f174ceb4-9b5b-11ea-8b69-aa0000139656 (Feed URL: http://www.ndr.de/nachrichten/info/podcast2994.xml) and https://gpodder.net/podcast/ndr-info-logo-das-wissenschaftsmagazin (Feed URL: http://www.ndr.de/podcast/podcast2994.xml)

Will these be scraped automatically sometime "soon"? I thought I could add infos to them but jsut was able to tag a few tags to them ...

Offtopic: Within Antennapod everything looks fine, I believe the app scrapes all data on import/sync.

I also have this issue, I am working on integrate my app to gpodder, after upload subscription, almost half are unnamed. I think this is a serious issue need to be solved.

I was able to get gpodder.net to retrieve metadata for most of my "Unknown podcast" entries by submitting the feed URL to the Search form. It is a bug that the retrieval doesn't happen automatically.

This appears to be a duplicate of #109.#49, #89, #109, #330, #439 and #485 all seem to be duplicates (or at least closely related).
