Adding an individual shortcut fails (generates a stack trace).
Also it looks like there needs to be multi-document support;
i.e. shortcuts should be organized into documents (there can be multiple shortcuts per document), and there can be multiple documents in use when broadcasting
For example there might be a document for just the participant names.
Other documents might include the captions and alt-text extracted from pdf a Powerpoint and MS Word document.
