Hoverzoom no longer compatible with Rockmelt #278

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
This morning I noticed hoverzoom wasn't working, so I checked my extensions
menu to see if it was disabled, and it is gone entirely. I visited the chrome
web store to re-install it, and am greeted with a message saying "This
application is not supported on this computer. Installation has been disabled."

Hover Zoom version:n/a
Google Chrome version: Rockmelt v0.16.91.472
Operating system: Windows 7 x64

RockMelt is currently based on Chrome 16, and Hover Zoom requires Chrome 17 to
run.
Hover Zoom won't be supported until RockMelt's authors update their source
code, sorry.
Other extensions such as AdBlock are having the same problem:

Back to the not as good extension till Rockmelt updates and catches up to you
then. Been trying to Shift+T images already with it lol. Amazing how quickly
little things like that become must haves. Thanks for the info and looking
forward to re-installing

Issue resolved: Switched to chrome to avoid browsing without Hoverzoom. =)

As always, thanks for the great tool, Romain!

Why is RockMelt using Chrome 16? Latest version is 21/something. RockMelt is
faster than latest chrome. But Google browser is open source. Maybe RockMelt
needs to track facebook members. Browser speed test i used was
http://peacekeeper.futuremark.com/ I wish you people at Rockmelt would get it
together. Maybe Ghostery keeps them from traking their facebook users.

Thanks for hanging with us on this, sad to see the EOL coming for Rockmelt (and
I don't mean just the browser lol).
