Backport changes for 1.1.8 #2694

Unfortunately, backport is not able to fetch more then 100 commits because of Github API limitation - see https://github.com/sqren/backport/issues/252 I tried to backport by cherry-pick but that diddn't end well, so, I did it through patch, loosing all commits in branch, which is very suboptimal IMO. :( Maybe we need to change branching strategy and just cut releases from master?
