Graphite Future Dates Selection #2824

I hope you are all fine and congratulations for your great job there.

I can see that you've been receiving a very useful and common feature request, which is being able to select and display future dates data on the calendar selector. This is very useful for linear regression and forecast.

I have an important new customer that has such requirement. Would you please consider a funded development for this feature?

Rgds.

Hi @heitorfaria

Unfortunately, Graphite do not support future dates (at least with whisper backend). That's a good question why do we need linear regression and forecast in that case - but it is how it is. Maybe it's possible with other backends, but they are 3rd party and not officially supported. Maybe it's possible to make it works just with linear regression and forecast, if someone wants to investigate that - be my guest.

Hello @deniszh ,

I know future dates are currently unsupported, but this is the whole point of a feature request. Please observe Im not asking Graphite to receive data with dates on the future, but being able to render future times in order to properly display forecasted data which is already possible to generate (e.g.) with the linear regression function. Rgds.

Hello @deniszh any news on this? I would be willing to finance this feature. If you want me, please reach me at heitor ( at ) bacula ( dot ) com ( dot ) br. I just want the Graphite user to be able to select dates in the future in the Composer for plotting. Rgds.

Hi @heitorfaria

Thank you, but I'm completely overwhelmed with other tasks and duties and not picking up any extra works right now. If nobody reacts on that issue I'm afraid you should look somewhere else, on some freelance sites. Chances are slim, but still.
