GraphQL Foundation should apply for a project slot or two.

We could potentially have @IvanGoncharov mentor one student as part of his work for the GraphQL Foundation, we just need to come up with a couple project ideas :)

@caniszczyk Great idea 👍 I would definitely volunteer as a mentor for graphql-js. Also maybe @acao and @benjie would be interested in having some help with GraphiQL.

benjie commented 4 years ago

I don't think I can put my hand up for this this year (hectic year); but next year for sure :+1:

acao commented 4 years ago

heck yeah! this is something i can sustain since ill be on it full time, makes perfect sense.

for starters, we could build out tons of documentation and examples around the new APIs! and a bunch of handy plugins as well

Hey everyone, just confirming I've got this and the application is underway.

orta commented 4 years ago

I can hasten (or, y'know actually start) looking at the site resdesign and a GSOC person can theylook at implementation side

Awesome! We're drafting up the ideas in a Google doc so we can get it to a minimum state before posting it. I'll share with you and we can get this added.

I assume this means you're good with being added as a mentor?

caniszczyk commented 4 years ago

You can also be org admin if you like Orta :)

I'm OK to co-mentor with someone, (I've done a GSOC before for CocoaPods, and it turned into quite a commitment, though the team they were staying with didn't know the language they were working in, so this is a bit different)

And sure, Chris Aniszczyk, I'd be honored - I've added an agenda item on the GraphQL WG next week to get an idea of what folks want too

pratiklodha commented 4 years ago

Great. Please apply and soon share the potential ideas list. We students would love to contribute to GraphQL ❤️😍
