Create a digital object identifier (DOI) for research purposes #299

It would be of great help for academic research, if a DOI would be assigned to specific versions of the specification.

This guide describes how this can easily be achieved for a GitHub repository.

Is there any chance that this might happen in the near future?

Great idea. I will ensure this is done for the next spec release.
