Hi @harkonnen11 , Can you relay which version of Ubuntu you are using? (Also, if this XUbuntu by chance?) Are you using the XFCE desktop? I don't believe a dual boot setup would interfere here. I think that maybe you will just need to manually change the desktop theme. The Chicagofier script may have ran into an issue while attempting to do this for you.
To manually enable the theme, provided that it did install correctly, you can go into XFCE Settings Manager (not the Settings Editor. Make sure you're opening Settings Manager) > Search for "Appearance."
From the Appearance window style tab, select the "Chicago95" theme.
Then click on the "Icons" tab from the same Appearance window and select "Chicago95."
You can close out the Appearance window now. From the XFCE Settings Manager, search for "Window Manager" (not Window Manager Tweaks).
If you are missing any or all of these theme options, then the Chicagofier script may have failed to install the theme. You can try running the installer.py
script, as documented here.
I installed Chicagofier on my Thinkpad X200 running Ubuntu following a youtube tutorial.
The install went fine however when my computer restarted as the final part of the install process everything looks the same.
When I start my computer I get the Windows 95 loading screen and even the bootup sound, however my desktop looks exactly like Ubuntu as it used to. When I log off, I also get a windows 95 logoff.
I have two OSs on one machine, maybe that could be causing an issue?
Any recommendations are helpful thanks.
