7 years ago AVS and CVV rules only apply to first time transactions and will not be applied to recurring payments or any transactions created using credit cards stored in the Vault.

In deploying gratipay/gratipay.com#4598 I turned on strict CVV checking. This is global for the Braintree account and I'm not sure how it interacts with vaulted cards. Keep an eye on this on payday ... worst case we have to temporarily disable it during payday.
