Did you have AppSync updated to latest version, I believe it's 5.

I'm embarrassed to say that I don't know how to check that. IOS is 5.0, but
that's all I can determine. How do I check sync version?

Are you sure you're jailbroken? If so, you can check in Cydia. You have to do
the following to install it:
1. Open Cydia
2. Tap Manage
3. Tap Sources
4. Tap Add
5. Type in http://cydia.hackulo.us/
6. Tap submit.
7. Go back to Manage and tap Sources again
8. Go to Hackulous
9. Find AppSync and install it

Well, that would be the issue. I haven't read anywhere that my iPad needs to be
rooted for iTransmission to work. Is that the case? Thanks!

Yeah it got be for a while as well. And just so you know, for iOS devices
(iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad) it's called a jailbreak or being jailbroken. For
Android devices, it's called a root or being rooted. And yes that's the
problem.
Which iPad do you have? You can jailbreak the 1st one with redsn0w but it's
tethered. Meaning that if you turn it off, you'll have to connect it to your
computer and run redsn0w again to turn it on. Although since you don't seem to
know much about this, I wouldn't recommend it. I'd wait for an untethered
jailbreak.
If you have the iPad 2 then you're going to have to wait quite a long time for
an untethered jailbreak to be released. Sorry for the bad news.

Great, thanks infec. . . I have an iPad 1 so could jailbreak if I wanted to,
but youre right, I'm an old guy and not native to techno-creativity. Maybe I'll
get my son to do it for me, or maybe over the holiday I'll have time to play
around with it. I appreciate all the help, and I have my questions answered.
Good for now!
