Solve the gd2-ffij exceptions #267

There's something in ruby 3.1+ that causes gd2-ffij to spew exceptions when running the test suite. Although the suite still passes, the exceptions are offputting and even I thought something was failing the first time I saw them.

They show up on CI too.

Definitely a bug in gd2-ffij, hopefully we can get it fixed upstream.
