Graylog doesn't change the admin user's password in any way. In general, Graylog doesn't change the configuration file by itself at all.
What you describe could be caused by some configuration management system like Puppet, Chef, or Ansible, which reverts your manual changes to the configuration file.
Also, please use our mailing list or our IRC channel #graylog on Freenode for support questions about Graylog.
"Puppet, Chef, or Ansible"
I dont have any of the above mentioned installed on the server.
Just found that restart of the graylog-server and graylog-web fixes the issue without changing the password.

I will post the query mailing list then.
Thanks.
Hi Guys,
I am experiencing a strange issue with graylog-server web interface where when I try to login on the web interface I get the error "Sorry, those credentials are invalid." I am very sure teh password is correct.
To resolve this, I then have to change the password in server config file and restart the server, elasticsearch and mongodb. Following this, I can login just fine but the very next day I face the same problem where I wouldnt be able to login to the server.
FYI: I am using the following config for graylog-server
Graylog-server.conf:
Graylog server logs:
Graylog-Web logs:
Any idea what I may be doing wrong?
Thanks.
