Since asd is not really a daemon, and shouldn't be, but it syncs files to ramdisk (or ramfs) and back to disk...

Why not call it anything2ramdisk-sync? Or persistent-ramdisk-sync, for something so generic that can be configured to sync browser profiles as well as (system) directories?

graysky2 commented 11 years ago

It's a pseudo-daemon. Syncing browser profiles is best accomplished with profile-sync-daemon.

You are right, I just realized that the fact that syncing a persistent ramdisk for "anything" must occur early/last in the sequence could maybe give me a reason I can understand why you are making two separate packages for profiles and everything else (instead of just one that can be configured).
