This is getting more and more silly. We should merge all Makefiles into a single one and provide proper configuration therein.

@hasufell - Agreed. I do not have the experience with Makefiles to accomplish it though... are you up to the task?

I am thinking that there would be a ./configure distro step wherein you define the options that each individual Makefile currently holds (distro). If it is something that you can start for me and that I can finish based on the patterns that you setup, I am glad to try. I assume that the general structure will be the same.
