high speed step signals #251

faintly remember reading amongst the documents about grbl steps signals maxing out at 20-25kHz.

Have a Panasonic ac servo motor (3k rpm) and driver that can take 500khz step pulses.

thinking about hooking up GRBL to the servo and moving it around a bit (albeit slowly).

What happen internally to the step pulses generator if very high feed rate commands were sent?

Has anybody got around using some kind of frequency multiplier to drive servo motors in the 1k-2k rpm range?

Here a similar work using Tinyg firmware ( GRBL forked project ) driving a brushless AC servomotor (a Parker 6000RPM 1.3KW motor ) with Allen Bradley servo drive (Ultra-100 series used in Follower Mode). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nrsyejv-vwE
