This is a follow up to #376. As discussed in https://github.com/greenelab/covid19-review/pull/376#issuecomment-647039545, the global deaths figure will continue updating each day, getting out of sync with the stats and the PDF version. I can fix that by updating the daily workflow that updates the external-resources branch.
