@Sergey-Knyazev, could you please tell us the data source for the number of SARS-CoV-2 genomes? Is it the home page of https://www.gisaid.org/?
If that is the source, do you know a machine-readable way to download the latest number? If this part of the home page is stable, we could possibly scrape the HTML:
We'd have to check the GISAID attribute requirements.
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
We have a static number of SARS-CoV-2 genomes with a date: "There is an ongoing effort to collect SARS-CoV-2 genomes throughout the COVID-19 outbreak, and as of August 7, 2020, more than 78,000 genome sequences have been collected from patients."
Describe the solution you'd like
This seems like a good candidate for auto-updating the count.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Not auto-updating the count.
