Create a spreadsheet of NRO custom code #76

LauraHilliger commented 4 years ago

Brief summary of task:

After talking to @gingerdude (Nordics) about custom developing an accordion block, we realized that this would be handy to have an overview of what P4 related stuff NROs and other P4 driven sites (e.g. storytelling) have created that might be useful for others. This ticket is to start a spreadsheet to collect any and all the different blocks, plugins or snippets of codes Planet 4 NROs have made. You might also include the agencies that built them?

Objectives of task:

Create an easy to use overview that allows NROs to input things their devs/designers have made Talk to P4 NRO representatives and ask folks to contribute to the sheet

Relevant documentation:

https://support.greenpeace.org/planet4/tech/plugins https://planet4.greenpeace.org/tag/blocks/

Estimated length of task:

A few hours to figure out what the spreadsheet should include and format it, then the time it takes to get people to input into the sheet

Timeline for task:

Well this would be GREAT if it were done by October because then maybe we could do something like voting on whether things should be core functionality still this year!

Dependencies on other work:

not really, just conversation and collaboration

Example of similar work:

We have the engagement systems global map, which helps us have an overview of all the systems different NROs are on, this is similar, but maybe not as complex?

Help:

You can always reach out to the Planet4 team if you have a question.

Excellent, @LauraHilliger!

Having an overview of developed blocks, features and plugins would be great. Just to visualize it some more, it could have columns like name, nro, source (link to repo or file), note (e.g. "Currently in pilot phase") and perhaps adopted by or interested. The latter could be used as an indicator as to which of the entries are worth considering adopting into the core, if it shows multiple NROs use it or are interested in it.

I'm closing this, since it's being mapped in our internal tracker in PLANET-4966
