option for maxing out machines #62

Hi

Let's first say that I love your work, you're doing a great job.

This is a request for an option to calculate on maxed out machines.

For example, I set up a Smart plating producing setup, but the standard calculator only calculated 2 screw producing machines. This is only enough to let the reinfored plate and rotor assemblers run on about half the speed. This is enough production to max out the smart plating assembler, but I have no excess rotors and reinforced plating to store. So it would be nice if the tool tells me to run 4 screw producing machines so the reinforced plating and rotors also produce on max capacity and I can store the excess production. Same with the iron plates, rods, screws and iron ingots. I want to max out the production to reuse/store the excess production.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

the problem with this approach is, that many times it can lead to over twice as much consumption of raw resources. For this reason, I don't think it would be really useful feature, not to mention that it would most likely be impossible to reach in some setups. We also have underclocking, in U4 you can put up to 4 decimal places, which is enough for pretty much any precision.

If you still want to have excess production, you can just add those items to production request and the tool would display them.

To accomplish this, you can add extra production outputs in the calculator if you want :) that's what I do to produce overflow for storage

Hi Greeny, Hi Advik

Tnx for the comments.

Right now the only way to accomplish this is as you both mentioned, adding the wanted output into the production list. I just wished there was a way to do this automatically.

But I also understand greeny, if there is no demand for it, it is not worth going through all the work.

But still thanks for taking the time to read my comment, and great work with the website, saves so many hours and a lot of frustration (I make a lot of mistakes :) ).
