Aluminum Scrap recipe should not require Crude Oil as an input resource #75

As seen below the recipe for Aluminum Scrap does not require a Crude Oil resource. However the calculator requires it and ends up producing secondary materials instead of just the product desired based upon resource inputs and desired output rate.

Other notes:

When removing crude oil from inputs the following is received: image

Same behavior is experienced in the U3 and U4 calculator for reference.

Well the issue here is something different - the calculator doesn't like "producing" raw resources. And because water is treated as a raw resource, it doesn't want to calculate it for you. You could do the same with any other recipe that requires water (e.g. pure ingots). This bug will be fixed in next big update, since I'm rewriting the way the tool calculates stuff.

As a secondary note tho, you kinda don't want to calculate aluminum scrap separately, as the water byproduct usually goes back to producing alumina solution.

This is fixed on U5 version. For example your query: https://www.satisfactorytools.com/production?share=SMvEWUS9nhG5CWN7oCQk
