README.md is growing and growing and getting unwieldy. It would be great if some external documentation written in Scribble could unburden it.

I understand that it might be not worth our time to do this at the moment, but consider this a wishlist item for the future. :)

Good point. As an easy interim step, I could linkify the bulleted list at the top, as a poor-person's table of contents.
