Write some projects to demonstrate example use-cases and add them to the repo under examples/. This will reify some of the scenarios described in the usage doc and provide some nice templates for new users to copy from.

[x] Simple load and high-level API usage
[ ] Bulk load/read/update with thread-pool
[x] Bulk load/read/update with Spark
[ ] Time series/append-only table
[ ] Logical record versions
