Hello, we added boarders of Nouvelle Caledonie in your file metropole-et-outremer.

Could you put your nice geojson on data.gouv.fr ?

gregoiredavid commented 5 years ago

Thank you very much !

At this time, this repository is focusing on data authored by the IGN. Regarding overseas collectivities, IGN only provides data for "overseas regions and departments".

I would love to expand the scope of the repository to include all overseas territory but I need to find a reliable source and find data for all collectivities, not only Nouvelle Calédonie. Can you help me with this ? Where did you find the data you added to this file ? Thanks !

Hey,

I found this GeoJson here: https://www.spc.int/fr/taxonomy/term/13. It seems to only cover Nouvelle-Calédonie unfortunately.

I think that it would be better to wait for the IGN to provide reliable data for overseas collectivities. Did you have any exchange with them?

Thanks for the link !

I didn't have any exchange with the IGN about providing data for other overseas collectivities in Admin Express (the database I'm using for this project), but I suspect this is not going to happen anytime soon. Maybe the best solution would be to extract data from open street map directly ? I'm still wavering on this...

If you add it in the metropole-et-outremer file, i think it would be nice to have the "Nouvelle Calédonie only" file, maybe in a dedicated collectivités françaises directory. Just my two cents... ;)

Hey,

Thanks to @AntoineAugusti link, I made a topojson file for Nouvelle-Calédonie.

Nouvelle Calédonie

I hope this helps.
