Tests gregorio-project/gregorio#1197. Corresponds with gregorio-project/gregorio#1204.

I'm just realizing that this PR was against develop, not release-4.2. As a result, these changes aren't in the 4.2 testing branch. I don't have time to fix this right this second, but these changes should be ported over to release-4.2.
