Did you use the --mkhomedir option successfully? According to the documentation for IdM/IPA, this option only works on IPA clients during installation, not servers. Apparently you would need to run "authconfig --enablemkhomedir --update" after IPA installation. I am still working on setting up my server and playbook to test.
Page 105 of the RHEL 7 Domain Identity, Auth, and Policy Guide says IdM attempts to use pam_oddjob_mkhomedir, which can be configured on the server after installation using "authconfig --enablemkhomedir --update"
good question... i know that the role runs without error, so likely it is just ignore it. I never got around to installing my clients due to some requirements that got in the way.
