Add unsubscribe functionality #6

Open greyshi opened 10 years ago

I just realized the functionality exists within twilio. All users have to do is reply "stop" to the text message. This comes with the bonus that they can resume the service by texting "start".

We just need to make this visible somewhere on the site.

That's awesome. We can put it in the "Congratulations" text

I added it to the contact us page. I figured people who just bought the service don't really want to know how to unsubscribe. I think the first message we send should say something like, "You've been subscribed to Doge Fact via dogefact.com" followed by a fact.

Fixed in the following commit. 21a9e65

So you don't think we should let them know they can stop/start in the first text? Twitter includes it and it's saved me some trouble before

If we want to do that and stick to under 160 chars, we could just make the first text informational and then begin the 30 facts after that. It could even start on the same day depending on when they sign up.

I think that's the best idea. It's worth it to give them an extra text at the beginning as welcome/informational. As far as when it start, we should also put that in the informational text.
