Could license be changed to MIT or other license? #818

I work in the industry and GNU General Public License v3.0 software is not allowed in my company. Could this license be changed to MIT License, or any one of other licenses like Apache, BSD, Eclipse, or Mozilla? Thanks!

Hello @xyztnull, thanks for the question. I understand how GPL can cause restrictions in an industry setting. We don't have current plans to change the license. However I'll leave this issue open for others to comment, so we can reevaluate the decision if we receive more feedback.

Thank you very much for your reply, understanding, and consideration, @jtibshirani! In fact, many customers of my company cannot install GPL software, either. The GRF is very promising to solve some real-world industry-level problems. I hope there be more feedback soon! Thanks!!!
