MetaZ does have a way to search like you describe though it is not that obvious and thus hard to discover.
When the Video Type is set to TV Show the fields Show, Season and Episode are also used in the search if they are filled out. If only Show and Season are filled out it will return all episodes for that season for any shows it finds.
So if you write "Scooby-Doo" as the show and season as 3 it will find the shows "A Pup Named Scooby-Doo", "What's New Scooby-Doo?", "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!" and "The Scooby-Doo Show" and show you all episodes for season 3 of those shows.
Thanks, that helps. You have to have the full name of the show or else have to correct the name of the show so this is a little clumbsy to use, but it worked. You are right in that it is not obvious.
I had no problem with season one and two, but I have been unable to figure out how to search for season 3 episodes.
An example one episode I can not search for is http://thetvdb.com/?tab=episode&seriesid=78260&seasonid=14624&id=277856&lid=7 I tried to search for "To Switch a Witch" which found nothing. I tried searching for scooby-doo but do not find this episode.
As a side note you might want to look at the interface to this tagger http://pytivo.sourceforge.net/forum/metagenerator-version-3-t1786.html It has the nice property that you search for the TV program name, it then pulls up all the seasons and episodes and lets you pick one. I found that to be faster, but it does not work for iTunes like yours does 8-)
