Hi. Sorry for the long time without review. I can't test it, but it looks good to me in general. Can you please add documentation to the relevant files? I can also do that and commit a revised version. I'll keep your copyright. Is that OK for you?

I've pushed a much simpler version of this MR. If you have any feedback, please voice it in #50.
