If a comment in a script is in line with command it is treated as an argument e.g

add env R_LIBS /home/smas036/R-libs # this is the location on Pan

Hm. Should we really support this? I probably could hack some checks into gricli but since scripting is not really griclis main purpose (although we are moving in this direction it seems) I'd like to tackle that in a more general way. For this particular error, couldn't we just instruct the users to place comments on the above line?
