Can a user update the walltime after a job has been submitted / execution has be begun?

makkus commented 13 years ago

Yes, but not via grisu/gricli. User would need to send us an email and we can change walltime.

Also, we'd not want to make that too easy, otherwise people could submit short walltime jobs to get their job executed soon, and then extend it. Screws with scheduler...

Indeed, so shall I include it in the user docs with the note that it is done case by case?

yes, user docs are a good place for this information.

Not really. Globus has no support for that, and such a request would have to be translated to the Local Resource Manager (PBS/SGE/...)

And most LRMs don't allow that at all. Or some allow that to be done by the admin - but not by the user.

Something that won't fly for our users...

Cheers, Vlad
