There is a bit of clarification needed here.
SmuFL supports the following rest:
mensuralRestMaxima: 2 close lines ⎹⎹ occupying 3 spaces
mensuralRestLongaPerfecta: 1 line ⎹ occupying 3 spaces
mensuralRestLongaImperfecta: 1 line ⃒occupying 2 spaces
mensuralRestBrevis: 1 line ⃓ occupying 1 space
mensuralRestSemibrevis: 1 line occupying 1/2 space, hanging from the staffline
mensuralRestMinima: 1 line occupying 1/2 space, sitting on the staffline
mensuralRestSemiminima: a 'Γ' occupying about 1/2 space, sitting on the staffline
mensuralRestFusa: a '⁊' occupying about 1/2 space, sitting on the staffline
mensuralRestSemifusa: a '⫭' occupying about 1/2 space, sitting on the staffline
However, Francon (Ars cantus mensurabilis, chap. IX) mentions a semibrevis major which is 2/3 of a space, and a semibrevis minor which is 1/3 or a space, both sitting on the staffline. Nor SmuFL nor verovio seem to take this into account.

What would be the most 'universal' option?
