update: freshly installed firmware 6.60, no plugin active, tried with 6.60
PRO-B10/C, 6.60 LME-1.8 and 6.60 HEN by neuron with different drivers, the game
won't start XD i think it's a problem with the game itself

PSN games dont come in .iso format.
Game images in .iso format should be placed in the /ISO folder on the root of
your memory stick, not extracted.

i mean that i extracted the game ISO from the PSN EBOOT, but there's no way i
can play it. the game is displayed properly in GAME menu, it boots but then the
console freezes.

well can you play it in it's default format?

If you downloaded the EBOOT from PSN then just run the EBOOT. Each PSN EBOOT is
signed to work with a SINGLE device (PSP) ONLY. So if you have someone elses
PSN Eboot - it wont work.

"So if you have someone elses PSN Eboot - it wont work"

You're wrong, the pro features a DRM free engine.

The point is to know with what tool did he extract that.

Please provide more informations:
-Tool you extracted the game with
-Patches if applied
-Does it work with a fresh dumped iso from a UMD drive? (try to see if friends
own this game)

i extracted the ISO on my PC with npdpc, no patches at all, just the clean ISO.
i don't know anyone with the UMD :\

The NoDRM Engine works properly for accesing PSN. So far It didint work on a
single PSN Eboot copied from one PSP/MS to another.

glad to know that you're disappointed that your friend's EBOOTs don't work on
your PSP, but my problem is slightly different: i extracted the ISO from my
EBOOT with npdpc and the ISO don't work. i did the same with the only other
game i got from PSN (angry birds) and it worked just fine, so i don't know if
this game has a problem custom-firmware related.

to run this, you will need to convert it to a EBOOT.PDP File, using a program
called "fake_np".

for noobs;(drag and drop .ISO file into "fake_np.exe", then put resulting
EBOOT.PDP into ms:/PSP/Game/Anyfolder). it is now playable on OFW or Any CFW.

-----

P.S., if your wondering why the Japanese ISO works, its because JP is UMD, and
USA Ver is PSN download. and USA was not properly converted from a PSN
EBOOT.PDP file, into a .ISO file.

so i conclude that the ones floating around the net are BAD DUMPS. whatever
program is used to convert a "Purchased PSN EBOOT",into a .ISO to be used on
CFW, does Not work with Crimson Room.

i repeat: actually mine IS a purchased PSN EBOOT, so i think i can assume that
the ISO i extracted is the cleanest i can ever hope to get, that's why i
reported the problem here.

and i already tried to use the fake_np, and it don't work,it gives me the
EBOOT.BIN error, and the seboot.exe can't be used on the EBOOT.BIN of the game.
so basically what i think is that this game can be sort of cfw-proof, but
obviously if noone has had the same problem i can't confirm it.

umm, i used "fake_np", and the game runs fine.
after fake_np, the game (eboot) worked on OFW & 6.60 PRO CFW
Just follow these instructions:
http://gbatemp.net/topic/292817-how-to-run-isoebootpbp-without-hacking/

no offense but your doing it wrong.
WHY DID YOU TOUCH EBOOT.BIN ?, AND WHAT EXACTLY IS seboot.exe??

EBOOT.PDP !, thats what you need. to get one;

1. rename ISO to np.iso
2. put np.iso and "fake_np" in Same Folder
3. double click on fake_np.exe
4. wait
5. take the new EBOOT.PDP and put it on Memory Stick
in folder MS:/PSP/GAME/CRIMSONROOM/EBOOT.PDP

6. Try it on Original Firmware.

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
just to clarify, when you buy a PSN game, it is in the format of EBOOT.PDP, and
it is placed in the folder ms:/PSP/GAME/ULUSxxxxx.

EBOOT.PDP is the original Clean Rom.

-Then, somebody downloads (Eboot 2 ISO 1.1 Converter),
and it BREAKS THE GAME.

-The problem is "Eboot2ISO 1.1"!

you don't get the problem XD i want the ISO to run on my custom firmware!
what's the point of faking it, i can play it via the original PSN EBOOT if i
want to XD

Original comment by alessand...@gmail.com on 1 Aug 2012 at 12:51

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
It works on Custom Firmware. im playing it right now.

here is my setup;
CFW 6.60 PRO B10
PSP-3000
settings: all default

PROMETHEUS 6.60 CFW will run a EBOOT.PDP.
And it will run Purchased PSN Eboots.

-------

again, Eboot2Iso converter does not work!!!
a crimson room "ISO" will not work!!!

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
the PSN EBOOT works for me too XD both on OFW and CFW

but by the way i don't use eboot2iso, never used it, i used npdpc by tpu

well, nobody ever said PRO CFW will run every single game ever made.
we should be glad there is a workaround solution at least.
i dont think the creators of PRO are going to rewrite the entire code for only
1 game.

i still think the problem is the converting software. because the EBOOT works.

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
well, actually it's exactly the purpose of this google project page, basically
they "fix" the driver in order to make "working" those games that don't work XD
no need to rewrite the code every time

but since the only people discussing here so far are you, me and some sort of
piracy-obsessed noob i think i'll give up and use the PSN EBOOT ;)
