How do we differentiate between US and Canada dollar? #2882

The dollar symbol ($) is used by both USA and Canada but the value of the dollar is different depending on the country. Therefore, regardless of your location, the customer needs to understand if they are paying 1 US dollar or 1 Canadian dollar. example: $1000 (US) $1311.48 (CAD)

This issue regards how to label/display currency units (as opposed to localizing the formatting of a currency string).

In finance, the units USD and CAD are used and placed following the numeric value.

In text, the convention tends to place US$ or CA$ preceding the numeric value.

@halocline tagging you here to bump visibility, @CillianHPE tagging you in case there's anything to be added in Figma (although might not be necessary)
