Design System graph colors + Brand Central secondary colors out of sync

Current problem

• Are the HPE theme graph colors compliant with Brand Central? Brand Central references “secondary colors” which look like our colors but have different HEX values. Should we be updating HPE theme to align? When did we get out of sync?
• Is the order or Brand Central’s secondary palette prescriptive of the order they should be used in data visualizations or is it just arbitrary?
  • If prescriptive, according to Brand Central, graph-0 would be dark blue as opposed to currently it’s orange.
  • For background, our initial graph color order in HPE theme intends to make adjacent data in bar charts/pie charts have appropriate color contrast. Does Brand Central’s order achieve that?
• For data visualizations that do not have multiple categories, from a guidance standpoint, do those have to use graph-0 (the first graph color) or can a different graph color be selected?

• According to Chris, Brand Central's guidance is incorrect and the Design System should be the default guidance for graph colors. He has already submitted a ticket for Brand Central to change their guidance.

Is the order or Brand Central’s secondary palette prescriptive of the order they should be used in data visualizations or is it just arbitrary?

• Currently, it's completely arbitrary.
